The Big Fall

These are all shots from our first trip of the summer. The Adirondacks. Dan, Todd, Robert, Phil, Troy, and I loaded up our cars and headed North. Way North. The Adirondacks are a 5 million acre state park in Upstate New York. We stayed near Lake Placid. This is called the high peaks region and it is an accurate description. There are so many beautiful mountains and lakes. We didn't see them all, but below is a taste of what we did see.

ENJOY!

Today we took a lovely drive up to High Falls Gorge. The weather has been scattered rain but we had some great sun in time for the waterfalls. The Falls have been a tourist attraction for more than a hundred years. Back in the day people walked along on rope bridges. We walked on metal walkways tacked to the sides of the Gorge itself. The power of the water rushing by, its roar, is daunting and at the same time, exhilarating. A beautiful place. Bummer the nature trail was closed due to the excessive rain of the last couple of days, but true to our nature we found some beautiful things to include in photos. Check out Hillery's money shot of the bee coming in for a landing. BUZZZZZZ! On the way back to the Loj we stopped by the A&W for rootbeer floats and fried food. MMMM!! Having a blast and relaxing to the utmost of our abilities.
